South West Craft Beer Festival, 5 March 2022

Beer lovers will rejoice at the incredible range of 175+ brews to try from 25 craft breweries and cideries such as Rocky Ridge, Colonial, Eagle Bay, Boston and Brewhouse Margaret River, including some crazy, delicious, mind boggling special and new release brews showcased by each brewer at their bar.

Armidale & New England Show, 4-5 March 2022

Despite lingering COVID restrictions, the Armidale Show Committee has worked hard to develop a full schedule for the public to enter and compete in, and a jam-packed entertainment program over two nights.

The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) has launched a new commemorative book, at a function held at Government House in Sydney, honouring the bicentenary of the organisation in July this year.  

134th Gulgong Show – a huge success!

On the 19th February, Gulgong Show Society hosted its 134th Gulgong Show. It was a huge success and we were pleased to host a fun packed show for the local families and the visitors that came with over 3,500 visitors coming through the gate.

Foster & District Agricultural Show, 26 February 2022

Sammy Spark. The Foster & District Agricultural Show is back at the beautiful Foster Showground for 2022. Saturday 26 February 2022 will bring our community back together again to celebrate the region’s hard work during tough times and showcase agriculture in our region.

There is excitement in the air, with preparations for the show well underway. Show President, Ken Leslie, reports that, despite having to cancel last year's show due to  the COVID pandemic, the enquiries  and entries  for this year's show are coming in and people are keen to get involved.

Penola funding boost and awards

Sheryl Lowe. Penola PA & H Society celebrated the opening of their new pavilion in October 2021 after receiving a $79,540.00 boost in Federal Government funding to support the build at McCorquindale Park ... The $700,000 funding pool was shared between four show societies in the South East to renew showgrounds and pavilions ... Penola was considered the centre of the South East in the mid 1800’s and so, the first regional shows were held there in1864,1865 and 1866.

Following on from the disappointment of cancelling last year’s show, Act-Belong-Commit Darkan Sheepfest is all set to navigate double vaccination entry requirements for events in regional Western Australia and is aiming for show success.

The popular Eat the Street Festival will return to Lismore’s CBD on Sunday, 29 May after it was cancelled last year due to COVID-19 ... Since its inception in 2016, Eat the Street has quickly become an iconic Northern Rivers festival, showcasing the regions’ finest food vendors and entertaining tens of thousands of people.

Orchestrated by Maclean teenager Nash Crofton, Clarence Tunes is a home-grown music festival which aims to provide local performers with an opportunity to gain valuable experience and boost their confidence on stage in front of a live audience. Nash told the Clarence Valley Independent he felt inspired to organise the event to help support the live music industry in the region, and the response from musicians and singer-songwriters keen to join the line-up has been incredibly positive.

Circular Head – 39th annual Greenham Trade and Export Cattle (hoof and hook) competition

The 39th annual Greenham Trade and Export Cattle (hoof and hook) competition saw a yarding of 75 entries with a quality field of 48 yearling steers and heifers, and 27 heavy prime beef steers, entries being accepted in pens of three. Each year this competition hosts the best line-up of 100% grass finished cattle in Australia.

Eudunda Show 2021 round-up!

Despite the threat of weather, the Eudunda Show was a great success with a big crowd attending. A great day was had by all with the organisers reporting only positive feedback received so far!

Uraidla and Summertown Show exceeds community expectations

Sunday’s Uraidla and Summertown H&F Show has been described as a “spectacular success” by locals and visitors alike ... Show President, James Sadler, was over the moon to see not only the sea of smiling faces but the huge support the Show had from so many volunteers who all helped to make it happen.

Gidge Show a gogo!

By all reports, the Gidgegannup Show held on Saturday 30 October was a roaring sucess with over 6,000 patrons attending the one day event.

Greenham’s Trade and Export (Carcase) Cattle Competition to go ahead! November 2021

The prestigious Greenham’s Trade and Export (Carcase) Cattle competition is going ahead. The competition has been held annually since 1983 and in recent years producers have been entering the National Beef Expo which is held every three years at Rockhampton with much success.
