Australian iconic musician Ian Moss is known for his silken vocals and killer guitar chords made famous by his songs ‘Tucker’s Daughter’, ‘Telephone Booth’ among others and prior to his solo career, he was the guitarist and singer of ‘Never Before’ and ‘Bow River’in one of Australia’s favourite rock bands, Cold Chisel.

Moss says the East Kimberley is a special part of Australia.

“The Kimberley Moon Experience is known as an incredible event, so I cannot wait to get to it with my band next May,” Moss says.

“Miriwoong country is such a beautiful part of Australia with a landscape that cannot be found anywhere else on the planet, so it’s definitely a must-do experience,” Moss says.

Brisbane’s Sheppard are sure to amp up the party with their hit songs ‘Geronimo’, ‘Kaleidoscope Eyes’ and ‘Coming Home’ which has amassed them over three million monthly listeners on Spotify, over 850 million streams across all platforms, and a handful of #1s and Top Ten hits in countries around the world.

Young, strong and proud, Baker Boy joins Ian Moss at the ‘Moon’ with his rap songs in English and Yolngu Matha language representing his Arnhem Land family, aimed to inspire younger generations to embrace their culture.

With one foot planted in history and another firmly in the future, King Stingray is Arnhem Land’s hottest musical export and a few months ago, the band took out the enviable title of #1 Most Played Australian Track on Triple J, for their accidental lockdown anthem, ‘Get Me Out’.

In hot news, the Kimberly Kitchen is back and will be held at the Muster Hub on Monday 16 May.

Due to popular demand, Australia’s best outdoor cooking demonstration returns to the Muster program after a three-year hiatus with one of television’s most loved personalities, acclaimed Spanish chef Miguel Maestro, affectionately known as ‘The Crazy Bull’.

Miguel’s jovial personality makes him a favourite with audiences as co-host of Ten’s Logie-winning show ‘The Living Room’, as well as his appearances on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ and ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!’.

There’s sure to be lots of cheeky jokes as Miguel shares his secrets on how to create paella and Kimberley Kitchen guests will be able to sample the final result.

Keep the laughs going at Comedy in the Park held for one night only at the Muster Hub on Wednesday 18 May. The fabulously funny Steph Tisdell will lead the charge, and the full line-up of comedians will be announced soon

A luminescent presence on stage, Steph’s warmth and wit has been a hit with audiences ever since she won the Deadly Funny National Grand Final in 2014 and her award-winning shows sell out wherever she performs. Steph is a regular on television screens on programs including The Project, on ‘Stand Up for Christchurch Benefit’, ‘Just for Laughs Australia’, and ‘Hughesy We Have A Problem’.

Before discovering her gift for comedy, Steph’s interest in politics and advocacy saw her enrolling in law and this formidable intelligence and sense of social justice now permeates her material. As a Ydinji woman, she loves to share her experiences and what her culture means to her, and she hopes that her visibility will empower other Aboriginal artists to come forward and showcase why they’re the funniest race in the world.

There’s more entertainment than ever with new events programmed including Hot Dub Time Machine on Friday 20 May.

Hot Dub Time Machine is the world’s first time-travelling DJ bringing a ‘dance-through-the-decades’ audio-visual party never before seen in Kununurra.

Hot Dub, also known as DJ Tom Loud, is global festival smash-hit who has broken dance floors at sold-out shows all over the world with songs played in strict chronological order, mixing and mashing visuals and audio live from vinyl turntables. It’s every song you love, the happiest moments of your partying days, presented in a whole new, exhilarating way. Bring your dancing shoes as this is one party you won’t want to miss.

On Thursday 19 May, get ready for the toe-tapping, boot-scooting Johnny Cash Tribute Show that includes the greatest hits of The Man in Black as performed by Monty Cotton whose voice has been described by the Edinburgh Spotlight as being so close to Johnny Cash’s that with your eyes closed you’d think it was the real Cash singing himself.

The music doesn’t stop there. Gina Williams and Guy Chouse perform Koorlangka on Saturday 21 May, in a rare performance that connects and captures audiences through the power of song. Theirs is a fresh modern interpretation of ancient music and stories, singing in the language of her Noongar people – connecting one of the world’s oldest languages with our youngest audiences.

In 2021, the Ord Valley Muster introduced Storytelling Night and its success has cemented it as a fixture in the festival program. Held at the Muster Hub on Tuesday 17 May, Miriwoong Elder David Newry will host a cultural night of storytelling expressed in a number of forms including the spoken word, movement and song, presented by the Mirima Dawang Woorlab-gerring Language and Culture Centre (MDWg).

Interwoven throughout the Boab Metals Ord Valley Muster are early morning Yoga Boats on Packsaddle Lagoon, Morning Ord River Muster Experience cruises early morning with Triple J Tours, and the Waringarri Arts Experience

Ord Valley Events Chair Sophie Cooke said that the Muster’s new venue was a proven success.

“We introduced the Muster Hub for the 20th anniversary event and it’s the perfect location for a festival – across the road from many major accommodation options and a short walk into town,” Ms Cooke said.

“The program this year has more big nights of entertainment than ever, and as a Board, we’re very proud to be taking the Muster into its third decade with an offering that’ll suit every kind of festival goer.”
