Lowes Petroleum, Media Release, 9 June 2026

Queensland producers will gain access to discounts on ground and aviation fuels, and lubricant services through a new partnership between AgForce and Lowes Petroleum aimed at helping reduce operating costs and improve on-farm efficiency.

Recognising primary producers are operating in challenging economic conditions, the partnership reinforces ongoing support for regional businesses across Queensland.

Lowes Petroleum Head of Sales and Marketing Sharon White said AgForce members would have access to technical expertise within the company, including tribology specialists who can help improve machinery performance and manage operating costs.

“With machinery costs accounting for a growing share of farm expenditure, anything that helps improve reliability, reduce downtime and extend equipment life is worth examining,” Ms White said.

“Practical initiatives such as fuel savings, lubricant optimisation and operational efficiencies are key areas of focus for producers.”

AgForce General President Shane McCarthy welcomed the Lowes Petroleum partnership.

“Lowes Partnership team’s commitment to supporting farmers aligns with AgForce’s focus on representing its grassroots members,” Mr McCarthy said.

“We place great value on our corporate partnerships, and this collaboration boosts support for our members at a time when they’re contending with rising costs to produce food and fibre.”

Lowes Petroleum said a key focus of the partnership would be helping producers review lubricant use across machinery fleets, with potential benefits including improved efficiency, reduced oil consumption and longer drain intervals, resulting in fewer oil changes and reduced downtime.

“Many businesses could achieve efficiencies through better lubricant management and product selection,” Ms White said. “Tribologists can optimise a surprising range of machinery. Machinery reliability and maintenance costs will continue to be significant considerations for farming businesses. It’s a primary producer’s nightmare to have a machine go down in the middle of a crucial period like harvesting. Our team works directly with customers to assess lubricant usage, identify opportunities to simplify product ranges and improve equipment performance

“In many cases, that can contribute to reduced downtime, longer equipment life and lower operating costs.”

The partnership also extends into aviation through Lowes Air, providing fuel and support services for producers operating helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. These services support essential agricultural activities including mustering, aerial spraying, fertiliser spreading and broader property management.

Lowes said the aviation offering formed part of a broader, integrated solution for regional producers requiring both ground and aerial operational support.

Under the partnership, AgForce members will also have access to discounts through the Lowes bp+ fuel card network, alongside fuel, lubricant and aviation support services provided by Lowes Petroleum and Lowes Air.
