It looks like our last market for winter is going to be a sunny one. We are very pleased to have olive oil and free-range eggs on offer at our August market.

Our new olive oil producer, Barfold Olives, are located near Redesdale. Barfold Olives is a ‘tree-to-the-table’ operation, harvesting and processing olives on-site using a modern Rapanelli processing plant, which produces first-pressed cold-extracted extra virgin olive oils. They hand-pick their olives for the table and tapenades – all naturally fermented without chemicals.

Loughlin Park Free Range is a free-range egg producer located at Allendale, near Creswick. We’ll also have two new handmade skincare stalls this month, including natural soaps, skincare products and beeswax balms.

Many of our regulars will be here in August: vegetables from Sandor’s Harvest, apples from Pollards Orchards, seafood from Off the Boat Port Fairy, sourdough bread, bagels, cheese, preserves, gluten-free pasta, wine, beer, cordial and baked treats.

Handmade arts and crafts will include jewellery, winter knits, notebooks and journals, candles and hats.

Our August musician will be Louise MacGregor, who has just finished wowing the crowds at the Winter Blues Festival. She will be performing some of her songs and playing other songs that she loves with a distinct personal flavour.

This weekend you will be supporting, on the gate and at the BBQ, the Maldon Tennis Club. There will be plenty of places to sit and enjoy a coffee, or lunch from our delicious food makers, while listening to live music and browsing the fantastic produce and products on offer. Lots of reasons to linger under the old oak tree. Come along and meet our local Maker and Grower community, support our local businesses.
