The artwork for the Un-Real exhibition was arriving at the Cassino Gallery today, Saturday, February 22.

Artists were dropping off their work and gallery volunteers were deciding how best to display it.

The Un-Real exhibition is about thinking outside the box, being radical, innovative, provocative — so anything goes from an artistic point of view.

Sculptor Laszlo Biro already had his sculpture Profit in place. There is of course a story behind his work.

“It should be displayed at a bank,” one of the volunteers said.

Viewers can decide for themselves when the exhibition opens on Saturday March 1.

A man named Cowboy brought in a burnt guitar from the bushfires.

The exhibition includes paintings, sculpture, book illustrations and collections.

Kevin Pulley from Casino has some of his collections on display — business cards and Goosebumps cards.

There will be three prizes presented at the official opening. All of them will be decided through People’s Choice.

The categories are — as you would expect in an exhibition like this — quite unusual.

They are: Most Creative, Most Fugly and Best in Show.

The offical opening of Un-Real is on March 1 at 4pm. $10 entry each person or $15 a couple, and it includes a glass of wine and nibbles. And you get to cast your vote in People’s Choice.

The Un-Real exhibition runs from March 1—March 22.

The gallery on Barker Street (former RTA building) is open Thursday—Saturday at 10am—3pm. Gold coin donation to enter.
