Udder Delights, Media Release, 31 October 2024
Pioneering Adelaide Hills cheese producer, Udder Delights, has released a special cheese to help fundraise for the health and wellbeing of farmers and advancement of the agricultural industry.
Stocked in Coles and selected independants nationally, 20 cents of the specially labelled Udder Delights Double Cream Brie is donated to the National Centre for Farmer Health, which supports farming communities by training the next generation, building capacity in the rural health and agriculture workforce, developing farmer-focused resources and health check programs, and giving guidance in challenging situations.
Since its establishment in 2008, the Centre has made significant progress in supporting the health, wellbeing and safety of farming communities and has become an important trusted point of contact for those in the industry.
The special fundraising initiative comes as Udder Delights celebrates a milestone of 25 years of artisan cheesemaking this month and aims to give back to farmers who have supported them over the years.
General Manager of Marketing and Sales, Phil Donnellan, said, “It was so important to us to support farmers across Australia and internationally after the close relationship we’ve had with many over the years.
“Choosing an Udder Delights’ Double Cream Brie is not only a delicious choice, but it also contributes towards the health and prosperity of the agricultural industry.”
Based in Lobethal, Udder Delights has collaborated with local dairies throughout the decades, by sourcing milk locally to get the highest quality cheese. The factory has now become an established icon in the Hills landscape, producing 800,000 kilograms of their signature handmade cheese per year, including many South Aussie household staples like their velvety camembert and creamy brie range.
By working with talented farmers in the local region, Udder Delights reduces its food miles, with the majority sourced within just 15 minutes from the cheese factory.
Over the quarter of a century, the iconic brand continues to build on strong relationships with farmers, for example, the Chandler family, who has a fourth generation Mulgundawa Dairy, and a long-running partnership of 15 years.
Udder Delights and the Chandler family collaboratively work towards producing high quality milk that is used to produce specialty small batch ‘single herd’ cheeses in their classic varieties including camembert and triple cream brie.
Udder Delights has grown exponentially over its time, from 60 litre batches in a small kitchen-sized factory, to now being a leading producer of cheese in our state and processing seven million litres of milk per year.
The quality Double Cream Brie boasts of a soft and creamy texture that is a great addition to a platter and lends itself well to other recipes.
The special limited Udder Delights’ Double Cream Brie is stocked in Coles and selected Independents around the country.
