This November 2-3, the charming town of Natimuk will transform into a hub of creativity with a series of exciting art events presented by local arts organisation ACT Natimuk.
The Natimuk Open Studios Art Trail invites the public to explore local artists’ studios, engage with their work, and discover the diverse visual arts scene that Natimuk has to offer.
From 11 AM to 4 PM on both days, visitors can tour seven studio spaces and meet twelve talented artists.
Attendees will experience a variety of art forms, including painting, drawing, printing, textiles, and sculpture, with select pieces available for purchase.
The art trail, now in its fourth year, is growing and has received positive feedback from visitors.
This year’s funding supporter is the West Wimmera Health Service.
In addition to the art trail, the Nati Pop-Up Cinema will showcase a curated selection of films by local filmmaker Jacqui Schulz.
This collection highlights works created by community members and artists over the years, offering a glimpse into what makes Natimuk truly special.
This initiative celebrates recent funding for the Soldiers Memorial Hall’s Audio/Visual Project from the Horsham Rural City Council and FRRR, and is proudly auspiced by ACT Natimuk.
On Saturday from 4 PM to 5:30 PM, The Goat Gallery will host the launch of the Becoming Nala exhibition and book.
This project is a result of ACT Natimuk’s First Nations Creative Lab program and features the storytelling of Wotjobaluk woman Chrissie Secombe and Moonahcullah, Wamba-Wamba man Alan Murphy.
The book tells Alan’s journey of discovering his connection to country, complemented by his artwork and Mat Dooling’s stunning photography.
This event has been supported by Wimmera Libraries and HC Pro.
For those interested in contributing to the Nati Frinj Biennale 2025, Frinj Director Alison Eggleton will host a drop-in session at the Soldiers Memorial Hall on Saturday from 1 PM to 4 PM.
Join her to learn how you can be part of this exciting upcoming event.
