Celebrating Women’s Health Week

Recent stories

Every September, Women’s Health Week is celebrated with a different theme every year.

For this year, the theme was “Grow your Knowledge”.

Bec Way, the local school nurse, strongly believes that the process of growing knowledge should start in primary school, providing young girls and women with the necessary tools to make informed decisions for their lifelong health.

With this in mind, she organised a day out at the Juno Centre for primary school students.

The event featured various activities aimed at promoting good choices, covering both physical and mental well-being.

Small groups of girls rotated through all the activities, including journaling, CPR, selfcare, and how to apply bandages if needed.

Bec thanked all the organisations that donated their time and resources to help produce another successful Women’s Health Week event.
