Service providers collaborate for National Child Protection Week

Recent stories

National Child Protection Week is a week-long event that takes place from 3-9 September every year.

Its main goal is to create awareness and promote a safe and supportive environment for every child, both in the present and future.

On Thursday, local service providers such as Territory Families, CatholicCare, and Julalikari came together at the Primary School South Oval to provide families with information on how to access support services.

Moreover, the event aimed to teach children that there are trusted adults they can reach out to in case of emergencies.

During the event, children were encouraged to identify and name five adults they could approach if they ever felt unsafe or needed help.

Along with educational activities, children also got the chance to explore a fire truck, use the hose to water the oval and interact with service providers.
