Barkly Regional Deal Backbone Team has secured five tractor packages to improve services in the bush.

The funding package from the Barkly Regional Deal Community Projects Fund will enable communities to look after their Country in a range of ways including slashing grass, building fire breaks, moving wrecked cars and rubbish to make their communities safer.

They will be delivered in the next few months to Nguyarrmini, Irrultja, Atnwengerrpe, Mungkarta, Wakurlpu.

Backbone Team Executive Officer Jo McPhee said it was great news for the communities.

“Other communities and organisations in the Barkly can benefit from this funding through the Community Projects Fund which is funded by the Commonwealth Government, Northern Territory Government and Barkly Regional Council,” she said.
