Rolling thunder heading for Denmark rec centre

Recent stories

Hundreds of roller skates will be thundering around the Denmark Recreation Centre for end-of-term celebrations once again.

The roller discos are back by demand, with a Super Hero-themed skate fest, held on Friday, September 16, the second disco to be held this year.

Shire recreation services coordinator Karis Aplin said after the Covid-19 disruption in recent years, it was a pleasure to bring back the discos which were an opportunity for families to enjoy a night together.

“It’s a fun, safe and healthy activity for the kids,” Karis said.

“At last term’s disco there was more than one adult having fun too.”

Plans are to make the discos a regular occurrence for end-of-term festivities and suggestions are welcome for themes for future discos.

Karis looked forward to seeing mini-wonder women and supermen on their skates. Tickets are on sale via Try Booking and spots are filling fast.

Karis asked everyone to book in advance so organisers could be sure there were skates for everyone. “There will be no door tickets so get in early to secure a spot,” Karis said.

The school holiday program will be released soon too, so everyone is asked to keep an eye on social media and website pages for information.
