Deadly Darwin brings its blak comedy to Tennant

Recent stories

Four Deadly Darwin comedians are travelling down the guts of the Territory stopping in Tennant Creek next Wednesday to bring “blak humour to change blak minds”.

The Deadly Darwin Goes Walkabout Tour will bring its hilarious show and free stand up comedy workshop to town with the mission of spreading healing through humour.

Co-Founder of the comedy group Deadly Darwin, Richard Fejo, says the reason they have embarked on the tour, which also includes Alice Springs and Katherine, is to bring love and happiness in the world during strange times.

“There is a lot of healing that needs to be undertaken today and we believe we are the ones to do it,” he said.

Fellow comedians Richie Harrison, James Parfitt and Paul Sedenwill take to the Barkly Regional Arts Theatre stage at 7pm to produce plenty of laughs.

A free stand-up comedy workshop will be held prior at 5pm.

Deadly Darwin was created in 2018 with founding members Richard Fejo, Normie Grogan, Micha Kickett and Desmo Lewis who decided to create the Darwin-based group of Indigenous stand-up comedians to use comedy and the skills of stand-up performance as a tool of empowerment for Indigenous people.

Tickets to show are $16.91 each and can be purchased by visiting https://artbacknt.com.au/show/deadly-darwin-goes-walkabout/
