Mayors meet at Temora on lack of dialysis services

Recent stories

Mayors converged on Temora Shire last Friday, to discuss health related matters. The heads of both Hilltops Region, Mayor Margaret Roles and Narrandera Shire, Mayor Neville Kschenka met with Mayor Rick Firman of Temora Shire.

The leaders discussed the issue of lack of dialyses services in their communities. ‘Mayor Roles and Mayor Kschenka reached out to us to sit down and talk about some potential ways forward in making dialysis services available in our respective communities’, Mayor Firman said.

The Mayoral delegation will again meet, with invitations to be sent to other Shire Councils across the Riverina who are experiencing the same frustrations.

‘We believe we can work together with Murrumbidgee Local Health District to come up with some possible options to ensure our respective citizens who require dialysis can get in their Shire community’, the Mayor added.

It is also understood the recent Temora & District Hospital Clinical Services Plan reflects submissions which request for dialysis services.
