Yass Show Society Inc

The Yass Show will be held on 19 March 2022.  It will follow the one day more traditional agricultural show format we used to hold the show in March 2021.

The theme for this year’s show is showcasing the local region and a community event is planned that has lots of family activities. New this year is a Children’s Arena with fun games and activities for the younger kids, including a scavenger hunt, and challenges such as throwing the rubber chicken and filling buckets with sand and colouring-in activities. There will also be regular magician shows and a patting paddock.

Being an agricultural show there will be all the usual pavilion exhibits such as cooking, needlecraft, fruit, veggies, lego, handicrafts, plants, flowers, wool, honey, cheese and photography.

There is a full day of horse events planned, including showjumping, heavy horses and Pony Club events.  There will be a Woodchop, starting at 11 am, Yard Dog Trials, merino and british breeds sheep, cattle and dairy goats. There will be working antique machinery, antique cars, and commercial exhibitors.  Food is provided by local community groups and local vendors and there is an ATM machine on the grounds. There will be show bags, but there will be no Sideshow Alley.

As part of our show we have introduced a Business Display Competition, with the winners being announced at the show.  This competition was open to all local business, regardless of their location and we have had a very good number of entries.  If you are visiting Yass, check out the wonderful displays local business have put up to support our local region and the show.
