Born and bred local Efsta Konidaris’ newest hobby has been taking the Barkly by storm!

The keen mountain biking local is well known for her businesses Tennant Creek Emporium and Total Sports, and it was by chance on a ride she took a photo with her phone and the social media reception went viral.

Efsta is now keeps a dedicated eye on the weather and skies, and deliberately heads out whether its on bike or in the car, to catch the stunning landscapes of the Tennant Creek region.

She likes to also focus on the region’s rich mining history, taking stunning snaps of the head frames with sunsets and storms as backdrops.

Recently, a calendar project featuring the popular landscapes, sold an overwhelming 100 copies and were purchased by residents and former locals reminiscing of their times in town.

“Mountain biking is my first love and because of that I got into photography,” she said.

“I just do it for fun but the response to my photography has been wonderful.”

Moving on from her phone, Efsta now uses a Canon camera complete with a range of lens to capture the perfect snap.
