The Narrandera Youth Council’s Food Trailer ‘Take A Bite Into the Future” project’ has now come to fruition.

The project was the result of a Pizza and Pitch night held by Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke who invited the youth to come along and pitch their ideas

Narrandera Bidgee Boxing invited the youth of Narrandera to pitch their ideas for youth related projects within the Narrandera Shire. From this meeting the Youth Council adopted the idea of the food trailer and a successful grant application was made through the Stronger Country Communities Round 3.

The project will see the Youth Council providing a variety of food and drinks at community and Council events.

The Youth Council is also inviting members of the community of all ages who would like to volunteer at any stage.

The food trailer was purchased from J and A Trailers, which delivered the trailer free of charge from Sydney in November last year.

Like everything else COVID put the project on hold for the most part of the year but the Youth Council is now ready to launch the trailer and looking forward to future events.

The design of the trailer showcases some of Narrandera’s beautiful landmarks and landscape. Straightline Designs from Griffith was engaged to produce the final artwork design to be completed by Matt of Narrandera Signs.

The project is expected to be a huge benefit to the youth of the town offering those who participate work ready skills, confidence and connections to the community. It will also assist in equipping youth with skills for their future while still having fun.

The Youth Council now looks forward to being able to facilitate future events and programs for youth through the project.
