WA Police said several vessels, police divers, police air-wing and remotely piloted aircrafts were involved in the search for 49-year-old Matthew Phillips.

Yanchep News Online understands about 50 SES volunteers searched beaches and sandhills until midnight on Tuesday after police found Mr Phillips’ vehicle at Grace Darling Park.

The keen diver was last seen in Sorrento about 10am on Monday, November 8.

On Wednesday afternoon Inspector Alyson Brett from the Wheatbelt District Office said some diving equipment was missing from the dive bag in Mr Phillips’ vehicle but they were not 100 per cent sure he had gone into the water.

Yesterday the search in the Lancelin area included Water Police, Police Air wing, local police, Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) jet, Department of Fisheries and Lancelin Volunteer Marine vessels.

Mr Phillips is described as about 182cm tall, bald with blue eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police immediately on 131 444.
