Roll-up, roll-up and get ready to experience the razzle and dazzle of this year’s Narrandera Show. Celebrating its 140th year, there will a be spectacle of showtime amusement for the entire family to enjoy. Running on Saturday, September 3, the show is Narrandera’s longest running annual event, attracting thousands of people each year and this year will be welcomed back in spectacular style after having been put on hold due to Covid-19.

Emma Pritchard. Thousands of visitors attended the Grafton Vintage Motor Vehicle Club’s Motorfest 22 at Jabour Park, South Grafton, on August 28 ... Motorfest 22 Committee Chairman David Andrews said more than 300 vintage vehicles were proudly displayed for the public, with participants avidly embracing the opportunity to view the classic collection up close...

Emma Pritchard. Oliver Waite from Grafton was thrilled to win first place in the Quilts Across Australia section at EKKA earlier this month with a stunning creation he has been working on for the past eight months. Measuring 180cm x 200cm, the perfect size for his single bed, Oliver’s award-winning masterpiece encapsulates the bright colours of fire and heat and caught the attention of the judges with his precision and skill.

A family fun day filled with so much to do and see. There will be activities, displays, food vendors, competitions, arts and crafts, horses in action, animals, kids rides, lawn mower races, entertainment, fireworks and much more!

Artworks from three Indigenous artists are featured in the latest exhibition, Our Stories, Our Culture, Our Country, which is on display at Crows Nest Gallery until September 18, 2022. The exhibition explores narratives relating to spiritual connectivity, place-making, traditional knowledge, healing and teachings of the participating artists, Cheryl Moggs (from the Bigambul First Nation people), Barbara Walker (from the Wiradjuri First Nation people) and Aaron Blades (from the Mandandanji First Nation people).

Pam Dillon. This year’s Borroloola show and Campdraft/Rodeo was a big success with various stands at the show and a big three-day event at the Rodeo grounds ... Big crowds turned out to witness an exciting schedule of events that included Campdraft, Bareback cutting, Gymkhana, Barrel Race, Bull ride, Station Buckjump, Steer Ride, Bullock ride, Poddy ride, Saddle Bronc ride.

The Narrandera District Garden Club’s 2022 Camellia Show at the weekend was one of the best ever, with 960 blooms of exceptional quality on display in the Narrandera Ex-servicemen’s Club auditorium. Garden Club Secretary Denise di Dalvia said it was one of the best shows she had seen in years and attracted a very high quality of blooms from visiting and local exhibitors.

Sarah Martin. The Southern Cape was crowned champion after two nights of thrills and spills in the inaugural Cape of Origin event at the Weipa Rodeo. Captained by PBR cowboy Beau Willis, the Southern Cape featured fellow PBR rider Luke Smith, along with local riders Travis Salam-Koolatah, Raymond Bond and Leith Malone.

Dorrobbee Grass Reserve is a beautiful reserve that surrounds the large concrete water tank on the hill just north of Dunoon. It is a special place of great cultural significance to the traditional custodians, the Widjabul Wia-bal people. The reserve is a traditional Aboriginal camping and travelling route maintained through cultural land-management practices, including cultural burning. The reserve is also a remnant ‘island’ of fire-dependent grassland and one of the last intact grassland ecosystems within the Big Scrub bioregion .

Bundjalung Nghari - Indigenise. This August, experience original theatre with Bundjalung Nghari (meaning: story), a collection of performed stories, poems and essays, penned by Bundjalung writers ... In September, Love for One Night at The Eltham Hotel is a circle dance of intersecting love stories told in the playful and theatrical style of NORPA’s sell-out shows Railway Wonderland and Dreamland.

Offshore wind turbines are getting bigger every year, a trend that already helps offshore wind reduce costs all over the world. Whilst recent research suggests that costs will continue to dip as wind turbines get bigger and are deployed further offshore, the challenges to the design of the floating platform that supports the wind turbine increase.

Livestock producers wanting practical information and tools to better manage their on-farm biosecurity are invited to watch the latest industry webinar update now available. This webinar was held last Tuesday 9 August and continues a collaborative cross-industry approach as the Australian livestock industry works together to keep  lumpy skin disease (LSD) and foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) out of the country.  

The third instalment of an industry webinar series providing updates on foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) as well as lumpy skin disease (LSD) is set to be held next Wednesday 24 August ... The webinar continues a collaborative cross-industry approach as the Australian livestock industry works together to keep  LSD and FMD out of the country.  

The show opens at 9am, we have a parade at 11am. We have a motocross freestyle display over the day. Old Macdonald Farm with small animals for the kids. Some free rides, lots of entertainment.

The 84th Annual Weethalle Show is on Sunday 21 August 2022 at the Weethalle Showground.

The 88th annual Mullewa Show will be held on Saturday 27th August. Gates open at 9.30am and the main pavilion opens at 12 noon. Entry costs have been kept low thanks to Lotterywest with Adults $15, Seniors $5, and kids under 16 FREE!

Get ready to experience a great day at the popular Gold Coast Hinterland country show. Canungra township comes alive in August to present local agricultural, horticultural exhibits, equine, miniature goats, stud beef cattle, ute muster and entertainment for all ages to enjoy!

The 2022 Gawler Show has brought with it a lot of optimism. It has been an enormous challenge to say the least, with unprecedented obstacles appearing more than once. This year's show continues to bring back family favourite exhibits and hands on experiences that make it a great day out.
