The undoubted highlight of the Man From Snowy River Bush Festival was the performance of Emma Webb in the Ladies Challenge whose victory gave her a 10th title.
After the preliminary rounds, Webb was sitting third with 538 points, just behind local favourite Hannah Blair on 542 points and Annie Triggs with 541 points.
However, a flawless run in the wild horse catch saw her leapfrog the pair ahead of her, both of whom failed to make a catch.
Coming into the stock saddle buckjump in the Open Challenge, Daryl Baines sat third but a successful ride ensured he beat out five previous winners for the $30,000 prize.
Despite the current fuel crisis, crowds were comparable to previous years and once again, camping on the Corryong golf course and nearby properties was booked out.
The success of the festival is largely due to the more than 300 volunteers who give of their time, many of whom come from away.
To help shape the future of the festival and keep it growing, feedback is being sought from patrons and locals and can be submitted at https://mfsrfestival.festivalpro.com/…/HnvTsvvob-JIcCs…/0.
