Kaniva Cricket Club donned pink on Saturday to raise funds for breast cancer support through the McGrath Foundation, marking the event’s third year in Kaniva.
A crowd of close to 80 people came along to cheer on the team and help raise funds for the cause.
Club representative Jock Maddern said $5,033 was raised on the day.
“We had 13 local businesses all make donations for our charity auction. The Kaniva Bowls Club ran a raffle for the day and donated the proceeds of more than $200 to the cause,” he said.
Funds raised help ensure that no one goes through cancer without the care of a McGrath Cancer Care Nurse. McGrath Cancer Care Nurses support people with cancer and their families by providing clinical, psychosocial and emotional support from diagnosis and throughout treatment.
