A phenomenal 26th annual Shag Gregory Memorial Poker Run was held on Saturday, attracting a staggering 188 poker hands and well over 200 participants.

“It was another great event, thanks to the hard work from the committee, our sponsors, and all who come back year after year,” one of the organisers, Tracy Ellis said.

The poker run is held every year in memory of local Shag (Edward) Gregory, raising money for Motor Neurone Disease, local charities and school scholarships.

This year’s run was to Darlington Point, Yenda and Carrathool and concluded at South Hay Pub where further fundraising activities continued into the night.

The total amount of money raised will be announced shortly.

Winner of the major raffle was Kurt Woods, who walked away with an impressive Milwaukee tool kit.

Winning hand was held by Kyle Aloi, and coming in second was Tom Schulz.

Emma Jones held the third best hand, while trailing at the rear with worst poker hand was Jason Clark.

Furthest travelled was Jo Busuttil, who came all the way from Perth.
