Barham Rock ‘n’ Roll draws huge crowds

Recent stories

The biannual cluBarham Rock by the River Rock ‘n’ Roll Festival attracted 250 attendees from local and interstate to enjoy four days of live music and dancing.

Barham Rock ‘n’ Roll Club president Judy Senior was thrilled with the event.

“We had such good feedback from the crowd,” said Judy.

“There were great bands, especially on Saturday night, Jump ‘n’ Jive, they were from South Australia.

“Of course, we had really good bands on Thursday and Friday, but they topped the deal on Saturday night. The crowd kept telling me how terrific they were the whole time.

“We had a full house, which speaks volumes, and the tickets sold out well before the event.

“Everybody was really happy with the club and everything Taylor Hancock and Josh Forster did in getting the entertainment and organising everything for us.”

The four days of entertainment were complemented by dancing lessons and the opportunity to buy the perfect attire or pair of swanky shoes to complement one’s moves on the dance floor.

cluBarham manager Josh Forster said it was great to have another successful event at cluBarham.

“We were incredibly happy with the numbers for this year’s August Rock by the River Rock and Roll Festival. The weekend was sold out and the reports from those attending was very positive,” said Josh.

“We were afforded some quality entertainment across the weekend, Uptown Catz from Melbourne kicked things off for the Barham Rock and Roll Club’s meet and greet on Thursday, The Zephyr Project from the Gold Coast played Friday night and Saturday afternoon, Jump ‘n’ Jive from Adelaide played Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. DJ Angelo kept everyone dancing all weekend with sets between the bands and the Alley Catz ran dance lessons on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Kick Back Studios provided our sound engineering and ChillAir Studios were present on Saturday night to provide airbrush tattoos for the dancers to wear home.

“I’d like to extend a big thank you to all of our staff, the Barham Rock and Roll Club and all the entertainers for bringing another quality event to the club.”

While the cluBarham Rock by the River Rock ‘N’ Roll Festival will be back in March 2025, those seeking to get their groove on earlier can check out the Barham Rock ‘N’ Roll Club’s social dancing every Wednesday night from 7pm at cluBarham.
