Spectators enjoyed an early morning start with a sunny day ahead that delivered highjumps and thrilling battles.
Waikerie Riverland Off-road Association (WRORA) president James Lochert said about 20 competitors took part in this year’s first event, “drivers loved the new extended track and said they will defintely be back”
Class 2 vehicles had Corey Hayworth and Jai Haworth claim first place after an impeccable run on Sunday morning.
“Others commented on the great set up and all the work the club has done and were definitely keen to spread the news to other competitors,” Mr Lochert said.
Class 5 vehicles brought Millie van der Woude along with her navigators Darran and Izzak van der Woude to the top spot on an uneventful run across the long track.
Multi-club class 10 gave first place trophy to Matt Ridley, from Waikerie, while Class 11 was won by Ben McNamara and Callum Crossing.
“Spectators loved the format and the fact that they could see so much of the track from the spectating area, including different types of obstacles, berms, corners, fast straights, jumps and whoops,” Mr Lochert said.
