New app for Australian Silo Art

Recent stories

Kaniva & District Progress Association were delighted to be invited to help test the Australian Silo Art App last month. The app has just been released to the general public and is available at the App store.

KDPA’s Helen Hobbs said, “Similar to WikiCamps, it uses your location to show all nearby Silo Art, along with community contributed public art information. It certainly fills a gap in the market and allows people to search for all Silo artists, whilst giving people information behind the artworks created even if no interpretive signage has been installed as they are travelling.”

In the last 12 months 5 new silos and 15 new water towers have been added to the trail. Unlike a guide book, the app is always up-to-date and perfect for anyone travelling Australia.

“This app transforms your mobile device into a personal art tour guide, Annette Green, Director of Australian Art Trails explains.

“Plan your journeys with our interactive maps and detailed art information, and keep a record of your art explorations with personalised journal entries.” AUSTRALIAN Art Trails Pty Ltd is excited to announce the launch of its innovative new app, a comprehensive mobile platform aimed at curating all public art across Australia.

The mobile platform offers a robust and intuitive interface that enables users to seamlessly locate and explore silo art, water tower art, and the rapidly expanding array of street art across Australia.

With comprehensive search functionalities, the app not only simplifies the discovery of these artworks but also provides detailed information and directions to enhance the user experience.

Starting with the iconic silo art and water towers, the app empowers art enthusiasts, travellers, local tourism ambassadors, and families to actively participate in curating and celebrating the nation’s public artistic movement.

A Community Effort: “Our goal is ambitious: to catalogue every piece of public art in Australia,” says Damian Modra, Director of Australian Art Trails.

“With this app, we’re not just observing art and the location; we’re engaging communities and enabling a new form of cultural dialogue.” Users are invited to join a public challenge, helping to expand the database by uploading their own discoveries of public art.

Plan, Explore, and Record: Silo Art Australia app goes beyond simple discovery; it enhances your traveling and holiday experience with features for trip planning and maintaining a personal art journal.

“This app transforms your mobile device into a personal art tour guide,” Annette Green, Director of Australian Art Trails explains.

“Plan your journeys with our interactive maps and detailed art information, and keep a record of your art explorations with personalised journal entries.”

Download and Join the Movement: Silo Art Australia app is now available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
