Remembrance Day service in Allora

Recent stories

The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month marks the anniversary of the Armistice Agreement which ended the First World War.

At the Allora Memorial Park on Saturday 11 November service personnel and members of the public paused in silence to remember those men and women who have died or suffered in all wars, conflicts and peace operations.

The Allora RSL Sub Branch, that conducted the Remembrance service, was pleased with the good turnout of 70 people including representatives from the Allora P-10 State School and St Patrick’s Allora School along with members of the Light Horse Darling Downs troop.

Retired Colonel Mike Timmer reflected on Remembrance Day and Allora RSL Sub Branch member Doug Lansley led the two minute silence.
