Update from GrainCorp

Recent stories

Harvest is fast approaching and Nhill Free Press and Kaniva Times contacted Graincorp for an update about Nhill, Kaniva, Lillimur and the Wimmera regions in the lead up to harvest, and this harvest, GrainCorp is excited to introduce remote tailgate operation for trucks equipped with compliant air-operated tailgates.

This significant operational change is the first of many enhancements we’re making based on invaluable feedback from our network of growers.

The initiative is aimed at optimising truck turnaround times while upholding the highest safety standards in the industry.

“Harvest is still a few weeks off in the Wimmera region,” says GrainCorp Wimmera Area Manager Nathan Tepper.

“We’re starting to see growers windrowing their canola, which means we expect receivals to start coming in within the next fortnight, or more.

“Good growing conditions throughout the year means that we’re expecting another strong year of harvest receivals; however, some growers are still looking for that final rain to finish their crops off.

“GrainCorp sites across the area are open for harvest and we’re working closely with local growers to meet their demands.

“As always, growers are urged to stay in close contact with their local Site Managers regarding deliveries and segregations.”

For further information or any clarification, growers and truck drivers are encouraged to reach out to their local Site Managers.

See in coming weeks photos of people in full harvest.
