Lord Howe Island Festival

Recent stories

Hi Everyone!

We’re so excited to share with you the information that we’ll be running a series of events for our community in late February… all part of the Lord Howe Island Festival! This was made possible through a grant received by the Lord Howe Island Board from NSW Government under the ‘Reconnecting Regional NSW – Community Events Program’.

LHI Festival

The festival aims to provide a variety of offerings/events in the hope that there will be something for everyone. This is a community festival, so please contact us if you would like to get involved!

A massive thank you to our supporting team of partners: Eastern Air Services, Oxley Travel, Birdon and the Lord Howe Island Brewery. All have been incredibly helpful in providing additional funding and service support where needed. We really couldn’t do it without you – thank you again!

As we get closer to the dates, more information will be shared on each of the events – but for the time being these are the ‘nuts and bolts’ to pop onto your calendar.

DISCOVERY DAY CARNIVAL AT THE OVAL (THU 16, FEB): This is the carnival you all know and love – managed by the Discovery Day Committee – at the oval Thursday evening.

DISCOVERY DAY PICNIC AT NORTH BAY (FRI 17, FEB): A picnic at the Bay with traditional island music and food to celebrate Discovery Day. We’ll be helping to take our senior citizens over for this, but all are welcome to join us.

JUNGLE JAM AT THE BREWERY (TUE 21, FEB): For those of you that don’t mind a boogie, this is the place to be! Performers will be announced closer to the date. STAY TUNED!

BLUES ON THE GREEN AT THE GOLFY (THU 23, FEB): A sunset-into-evening BYO-nibbles vibe up at the Golf Club. We will have live music from the man of blues himself, Jeff Lang, as well as others. STAY TUNED!

TASTE OF LORD HOWE IN THE TOWN CENTRE (SAT 25 FEB): This will kick-off mid-afternoon and into the evening: a mix of food, music and, hopefully, good times. We have some exciting performers to announce very soon. Again, STAY TUNED!

We hope to see you all there in the hope that our festival can offer something really special for everyone – and please keep your fingers crossed for fine weather!
