October has been a busy month with a Disaster Big Map Exercise, CPR courses taking responsibility of a Defibrillator machine to completing our new roof. The committee would like to thank Southern Downs Regional Councils Community Development Office James Wong for his ongoing support for the Goomburra Hall which has led to new equipment and training for the Goomburra community.
Disaster preparedness is one of the GTH committee’s aims for the Goomburra Valley as there is only one road in and out. As part of this the committee has undertaken training in this area and have the Defibrillator which will be registered with the Qld Ambulance.
On 12 November we are holding with the support of SDRC a ‘Get Ready Goomburra Emergency Services Event” We invite the whole region to come along and visit us at Goomburra Town Hall and see the latest high-tech emergency equipment and vehicles. Meet local firefighters, police, SES Crew. FREE entry 9.30 am to 11.30 am.
