Wyreema State School, On Our Selection News
Wyreema State School is lucky enough to have access to its own Story Dog, Lady, on a weekly basis and the students love reading to her.
Lady is directly sponsored by the Toowoomba West Lions Club but the program itself is run by the charity, Story Dog Australia, which covers the training and insurance of the dog.
Once a year, the program raises funds by having a Free Dress in Orange Day (orange is the colour of the Story Dog Vest).
Friday 26 August saw the students from Wyreema boldly wearing orange t-shirts, scarves and Dad’s old work shirts to help raise funds so that other schools can share the joy of reading with their own Story Dog.
