Dance workshops get kids in the groove

Recent stories

Tennant Creek kids were lucky enough to be able to participate in dance/hip hop workshops with artists Matty, Franceska and Michael from Indigenous Outreach Projects (IOP) this week.

The week was full of workshops, run with assistance from Julalikari, culminated with a dance performance at Nyinkka Nyunyu on Saturday night.

After the visiting artists warmed up the crowd, it was time for the main attractions, with performances by the younger students, followed by the older kids showing off what they had learned during the week.

A surprise was in store for the audience however, when the artists encouraged everybody to get up and dance, some of them showing lots of potential bopping to the music.

IOP will be releasing a dance video from the workshops very soon, and you can keep updated about that on their Facebook page so you can check out the dance talent in Tennant Creek.
