Teachers became students for a day when the Barkly Region Sport Education Coordinator, Pam Dillon visited to present professional development in the form of First Aid, CPR Update and Physical Literacy training.

Staff members worked hard after school being assessed for First Aid and CPR after completing an online component. Some very interesting donut bandages were displayed along with great slings for a variety of injuries.

The following day the students enjoyed participating in a variety of balancing, throwing and jumping activities while their teacher learnt how the activities can be used to learn maths, either outside or back in the classroom.

Whilst the students were enjoying all the activities photos were being taken to be used in a literacy lesson that afternoon. Pam Dillon worked with Year 4-6 students and their teacher Mr Rod, to write and produce a book about their experiences that morning.

The students will then visit the younger year levels to read the book they produced, and hopefully the younger students will share their own experience of the physical literacy activities they did with the older students.
