Over 340 players hit the Kerang Lawn Tennis courts for the year’s major fundraising event. The 2022 Kerang Easter Carnival was held from Friday, April 15 to Monday, April 18. The numbers this year were slightly down from last year, with 2021 breaking all participation records due to COVID-19 restrictions easing. Eligible players marking their 25th year of playing at Kerang increased names on the 25-year player list for 2022.

With juniors held on Good Friday, over 100 kids hit the court for some fine tennis, with junior competition in solid form.
Saturday to Monday saw men’s and women’s singles, doubles, mixed doubles, parent and child doubles, and boys and girls under 16 singles, doubles and mixed doubles. The event was supported by volunteers and the band ‘Code 5’ on Sunday night. Selected finals matches were adjusted from Monday to Sunday evening, with the inclement weather heading Kerang’s way Monday.

The event is the major fundraiser for the club, covering costs such as electricity and greenkeeping, allowing the club to keep membership prices down and make tennis available for everyone. With the bumper year in 2021, the club has improved facilities and added a coat of paint where needed. The club is looking forward to the 2023 Kerang Easter Tennis Tournament and growing tennis in the region.
