Tennant Creek local Kris Civitarese has thrown his hat into the ring for the Federal Election.

The Country Liberal Party announced yesterday Mr Civitarese has been preselected to run for the second Senate position.

The former resident and Barkly Regional Council councillor said he was humbled to have been preselected.

“I am humbled to have been preselected and I will work hard every day to support the CLP Federal Team who are experienced, passionate locals who are ready to serve our communities in Canberra,” said Mr Civitarese.

“I put my hand up because I believe in the future of this place and can’t bear to spend another day watching Labor destroy the Territory – I’ve stepped up because I want to do something about it.

“My message to Territorians this Federal Election is clear – a vote for Labor is a vote for crime, a broken economy and more debt.

“A vote for Damien, Tina, Jacinta and I is a vote for a stronger economy and stronger future. Together we will ‘get things done’ and have a seat at the table.

“The Territory can prosper with CLP voices in Canberra as part of the Coalition Government rebuilding our economy, and building stronger futures for all of us.”
