Winanjjikari promotes local music scene

Recent stories

Winanjjikari Music Centre held a networking event on Monday evening at the Centre to give those people interested in local music a chance to have a chat and find out all the latest on the local music scene.

With people from Music NT, APRA AMCOS and 8CCC Community Radio in attendance as well as local musos, there was plenty of interesting talk going on regarding the future of performing in the Barkly.

Benjamin Erin from 8CCC was also pleased to be bearing the gift of a new outside broadcast kit for the town, courtesy of a grant from the BRC Community Grants Program. The unit will be able to be used for events and mobile radio broadcasts, along with podcasts. Awesome to see 8CCC keeping Tennant Creek well decked out equipment wise so we ca showcase local talent.

Naturally enough, the musos were not able to keep away from the equipment, so there was plenty of music to entertain those who attended. Keep your eyes peeled for performances in the future.
