Chris Delpratt’s Roadside Impressions exhibition survey (2003 -2015)

Kareen Anchen. “For me, once a painter, always a painter”. Like many painters, Chris has had to find her own way and has spent a lifetime doing so; we are much richer for her endeavour. Roadside Impressions is an immersive survey exhibition from 2003 – 2015. On exhibition are meditative landscape paintings by Chris Delpratt.

Grounded: A new exhibition celebrating Bundjalung cultural knowledge and creative wellbeing

Lismore City Council through Lismore Regional Gallery and the Quadrangle are proud to present a new First Nations-led creative wellbeing program launching with multi-sensory exhibition ‘Grounded’ this October … an innovative exhibition featuring the works of Widjabul-Wiabul/Yaegl sound and performance artist Mitch King and socially engaged artist and filmmaker Karenza Ebejer.

The Birchip Art Show, now in its 38th year, continues to be a highly anticipated cultural event in Victoria’s Wimmera-Mallee region. What began as a fundraiser for the “Friends of the Library” has evolved into a prestigious biennial celebration of artistic expression and culture, drawing attention from both established and emerging artists across the state.

Off to the Show

Percy Leason’s iconic cartoon ‘Off to the Show, or The Man They Left Behind Them’ graces the cover of this year’s Kaniva Show schedule. To coincide with the Wiregrass project, Kaniva and District Progress Association will showcase a small temporary exhibition of several of Leason’s never-before-seen cartoons, highlighting various aspects of agricultural shows.

Former Narrandera resident now painter Tim Snowdon has had a fulfilling life as a talented painter, dipping his brush in many different genres over time: still life, landscape, contemporary, traditional, portraiture – and of course houses. He doesn’t paint pictures of houses, he paints houses. Literally.

Days of Glamour

They are the dresses of yesteryear, the gowns that a girl could dress in and feel like a princess – and they’re on display at the Cohuna Art Gallery for all to see. As part of the ‘Days of Glamour’ exhibition, you can view these beautiful dresses owned and once worn … in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s ... Joy’s dress was bought with money from her father when she was 16, in 1963.

2024 Wollumbin Art Award winners announced

Tweed-based Wiradjuri artist  Hannah Lange has been awarded the top prize in the 2024 Wollumbin Art Award (WAA) with a stunning painting paying tribute to traditional First Nations weaving entitled Weaving by the River. The artist also wins a two-week residency at the Gallery’s Nancy Fairfax Artist in Residence Studio.

Cascade springs into a painted atmosphere

Cascade Art Gallery reopened after a winter hiatus on Thursday 5 September with a beautiful exhibition of David Moore’s 51 paintings of sky, landscape and domestic objects ... Exhibition takes flight for local farmer

Working on the land, Moulamein farmer Nick McKindlay found farming gave him a great opportunity to explore his passion for birds. "As a farmer, I spend most of the workday outdoors, and my passion for birds has naturally woven itself into my daily activities," said Nick.

Josie’s more than “Just A Sheila”

Sculptor/artist Josie Dillon Lowerson is a former local who grew up on the farm at Narraport and attended school in both Wycheproof and Birchip. She is currently preparing a major exhibition of her artworks which have been transported 3,000 km from her studio on the Atherton Tablelands in far north Queensland, to Fortyfivedownstairs Gallery in Flinders Lane, Melbourne.

Medieval to Metal

For those who rock, we salute you! Medieval to Metal: The Art & Evolution of the Guitar  hits Ballarat this October.  Exclusive to the Art Gallery of Ballarat, the exhibition features  40  iconic  guitars on loan from the National Guitar Museum (USA) alongside  an awe-inspiring assemblage of photographs, paintings, drawings,  illustrative designs, and  objects.  

Driven to success

The opening of the “Driven” exhibition on Saturday ... at the Charlton Courthouse Gallery was a highlight on the cultural calendar for the artists, gallery committee, and many in attendance. Featuring the textiles and paintings of Kate Giakimis, ceramics by Genevieve Navarre, metal sculptures by Joel Thiesz and Joe Durie, and paintings by Chris Wyatt, the mix of materials used and the quality of the work, proved a hit with visitors.

Wearable art turning heads in Maldon Gallery

Michelle Dorian. The delicate creations displayed in Maldon’s MANet Gallery are intricate, sculptural artworks and they are also hats. The wearable pieces were created by Noelle Elizabeth, who trained in Fine Arts at Ballarat University before pursuing a passion for historical headgear.
