Angela Hart from Nobby has been named as one of fifty finalists in The Australian Artists Awards for Emerging Artists.
The Finalist Exhibition is taking place at the Able Gallery in Loganlea, south of Brisbane from 19 to 26 September.
Angela has been an artist for many years and as part of the local Back Road Artists group has contributed to exhibitions in local galleries and art spaces.
She also spends time at Nobby State School helping students to learn art skills.
Angela had plenty of competition to make the exhibition, as 168 artworks were entered and 1100 votes cast by the participating artists to choose the Finalists.

This is Angela’s artist profile:
“Before discovering my love for the arts, I was immersed in the equestrian world, competing in events ranging from dressage to camp drafting.
“Throughout my journey, I observed many gestures of affection and sometimes the painful bruising of human ego towards our equine companions.
“I have a profound sense of serenity and sometimes strain in my paintings. My passion lies in capturing the essence of horses, dogs, and people through portraiture. With each acrylic stroke, I strive to evoke emotion and connection, drawing viewers into the soul of my subjects.”
Two major prizes and ten highly commended certificates will be presented on the awards night.
