The second annual AgriTourism Summit is set to take place on August 12–13th 2025, at Banksia Orange. This year's theme, “AgriTourism Unlocked: Harvesting New Opportunities,” aims to explore the untapped potential of agritourism in Australia, focusing on sustainable strategies and community growth.

This family-friendly event brings together the world’s elite riders in Freestyle Motocross (FMX) and BMX.

Ian Hutton. From May 25th to June 1st the Friends of Lord Howe Island ran another successful weeding ecotour to assist the LHI Board with the Island weed eradication program. Eighteen people came along and enjoyed a week contributing to conservation, whilst enjoying the exploration of the Island.

For the first time, the flagship event – CAPA Airline Leader Summit Australia Pacific 2025 – is being held outside a capital city, highlighting Cairns’ growing importance as a hub for regional aviation and tourism. 

The Sculpture by the Sea project, incorporating the Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail, was the recent recipient of the prestigious Gratias Agit award in Prague. Founding CEO and artistic director, David Handley, travelled to Prague as a guest of the Czech government to receive the award on behalf of Sculpture by the Sea.

Roger Dickenson. The 2025 Naracoorte Open was held on July 19-20, with 34 players from all over SA and Victoria competing across five divisions. Spectators were treated to some great quality squash over the weekend, with 68 matches played, including several close finals.

Running from 8 to 10 August 2025 at the Prince of Wales Showgrounds in Bendigo, this iconic event is free and open to all.

Fraser Island can certainly tell a few tales, and here is one of the saddest. On July 22, 1970, a routine sightseeing trip to Fraser Island turned into a disaster that claimed seven lives, marking the darkest day in the island’s tourism history.

Queensland’s inland fishing program, the Stocked Impoundment Permit Scheme (SIPS), was introduced in 2000 and has since grown from 25 dams to 63 impoundments. To celebrate, the “SIPS 25” fishing competition will be held in the September school holidays at SIPS destinations across the State.
