Gai Pritchett. Two of Yamba’s talented artist’s, Jillian Bowles and Belinda Laurie, have joined forces to bring a vibrant and colourful exhibition to The Old Kirk Gallery at Yamba Museum.

Serena Kirby. One of Denmark artist Peter Usher’s paintings has been selected for Leeuwin Estate’s Art Series wine labels. Peter joins the ranks of other leading Australian artists to appear on the labels that includes works by John Olsen, Arthur Boyd, Sir Sidney Nolan, Robert Juniper and Clifton Pugh.

Joanna Tucker. Self-taught Wallaroo artist Debbie Seater has her art projected on the iconic Karoonda Silos in the Murray Mallee for all of January. Her eleven artworks have been created in multiple mediums —which is not uncommon for Ms Seater.

Georgie Ah Ling, Donald’s famous market gardener has been immortalised on the wall of the town’s “modern market” thanks to a Donald 2000 initiative and the creative talents of Melbourne-artist Heesco. This incredible artwork tells Georgie Ah Ling’s story and his remarkable contributions to the Donald community.

Donald’s IGA wall is receiving some special attention this week, with Melbourne artist Heesco dedicating his time and talents to a new mural, featuring Donald’s historical Chinese market gardener, Georgie Ah Ling. Heesco commenced work on Tuesday, November 26, and will be staying in Donald until the completion of the mural, which is hoped to be next week.

Griffith's stunning new mural on the nine-megalitre drinking water tank on Scenic Hill was officially launched recently. A small crowd of Griffith City Councillors and staff gathered to hear artist Heesco reveal the inspiration behind his stunning artwork, which skilfully weaves together the themes of water, multiculturalism, agriculture and manufacturing and Indigenous heritage.  

Artworks produced by inmates at the Clarence Correctional Centre (CCC) are currently on display as part of an exhibition entitled Clarence Gets Creative at the Casino Art Gallery. The unique event, created in partnership between SERCO and the art gallery, provides a platform for inmates to showcase their artistic talents.

Over the Melbourne Cup Weekend the Birchip Community Leisure Centre was transformed into a vibrant gallery space, featuring an impressive range of two hundred and twenty pieces of artwork and sculptures from almost sixty artists from around Australia. The biennial event brought together the Birchip P-12 school community, residents, ex-residents, families, artists and visitors…

White Cliffs artist Jenny Hayes is getting close to the finish of the mural on the long side wall of the White Cliffs Hotel. Jenny said it took a long while to gather the material for the design, relying on family and local residents memories, old papers and historical documents along with research into the variety of dinosaurs that once inhabited this region.

The winners were announced at the Coraki Art Prize Gala Night at the Coraki Youth Hall ... Organiser Tanya Alderman said there were more than 100 youth entries. Best in Show went to Hollie McKenzie from Whian Whian for her artwork  I Feel Alive but Can’t Complain. She won $2000 sponsored by Casino RSM Club.

Kareen Anchen. “For me, once a painter, always a painter”. Like many painters, Chris has had to find her own way and has spent a lifetime doing so; we are much richer for her endeavour. Roadside Impressions is an immersive survey exhibition from 2003 – 2015. On exhibition are meditative landscape paintings by Chris Delpratt.

A large crowd gathered at the Castlemaine Art Museum last Friday night when Bendigo West MP Maree Edwards announced the winner of the Len Fox painting award. This is an acquisitive prize that is awarded every two years to commemorate the life and work of E. Phillips Fox ... The 2024 Len Fox award winner is Nellie Napa Coulthard for her painting titled Tjuntala Ngurangka - Country with Wattle, which celebrates the beauty of the artist’s country.

Former Narrandera resident now painter Tim Snowdon has had a fulfilling life as a talented painter, dipping his brush in many different genres over time: still life, landscape, contemporary, traditional, portraiture – and of course houses. He doesn’t paint pictures of houses, he paints houses. Literally.

A French photographer and a Wahlubal artist have become friends through their admiration of each other’s work. Dave Tabulam (his photographer name) started a Facebook page featuring photos of nature in and around Tabulam ... William Walker saw Dave’s photos and wanted to meet him.

The opening at Raillery Saturday, September 21, will feature the work talented artists, Chris Dyson and Stephen MacKenzie ... In the beautiful valley at Stuart Mill live two artist neighbours whose works invite us into a mystical world.

Muralists are painting up a storm in Nimbin! Lora Flora has been panting rainforest images outside the new Youth Club room; Julie De Lorenzo, Jen Harkness and Gaia Heart are painting in the newly upgraded laneway next to the Bakery, with help from Nimbin Central students Maddie Wilson and Grace Adlington, using Council funding left over from the footpath upgrade.

What is happening at the gallery, well I will tell you. Our Paint a Skateboard Exhibition has opened. This exhibition has an absolute wow about it, so many different ways to make a deck look fantastic.

An innovative portrait project at Uniting Caroona Yamba by renowned local artist Harry Westera is uniting residents and staff, fostering a friendly community and preserving precious memories ... When his wife Grace, a Pastoral Carer at Caroona Yamba suggested he volunteer he took up the opportunity, and in 2 years he has hand drawn 91 portraits of residents, 52 of which adorn the walls of Caroona, with more being added regularly.

Tweed-based Wiradjuri artist  Hannah Lange has been awarded the top prize in the 2024 Wollumbin Art Award (WAA) with a stunning painting paying tribute to traditional First Nations weaving entitled Weaving by the River. The artist also wins a two-week residency at the Gallery’s Nancy Fairfax Artist in Residence Studio.

Cascade Art Gallery reopened after a winter hiatus on Thursday 5 September with a beautiful exhibition of David Moore’s 51 paintings of sky, landscape and domestic objects ... Starting at an early age David learned to paint under the guidance of his father and mentored by Sir William Dargie CBE and Harley Griffiths, who was responsible for restoration at the NGV.

Angela Hart from Nobby has been named as one of fifty finalists in The Australian Artists Awards for Emerging Artists ... Angela has been an artist for many years and as part of the local Back Road Artists group has contributed to exhibitions in local galleries and art spaces.

Jimmy Willing. I was lucky enough to grow up with a couple of Neville Cayleys hanging in the family home. It has always amazed me that my father owned these treasures from another time but in the 20th Century they were not considered art, merely scientific drawings!
