Key grains research outcomes will be shared next Tuesday, 5 August at the Grains Research and Development Corporation’s (GRDC) free Grains Research Updates event.
Events are being held at multiple locations across Queensland and New South Wales this week and next week, with Dalby by far the closest to Clifton.
GRDC Grower Relations Manager Sally Dickinson said the events bring together leading researchers, growers and advisers to discuss cutting-edge developments in grain production, farm profitability and sustainability.
“Each update is bespoke to its region, with topics selected by local growers and agronomists,” she said.
“The GRDC Updates will feature sessions on farming systems profitability, soil health and amelioration, crop nutrition and nitrogen strategy, weed and disease management, emerging technologies in grain production, and more.
“They provide growers with access to the latest research findings and practical strategies to improve farm productivity and profitability.
“It’s a great opportunity to hear directly from experts and discuss how new innovations can be applied on-farm.”
The Dalby event will feature a fall armyworm update from Joe Eyre (The University Of Queensland) and Queensland Department of Primary Industries’ (QDPI) Merrill Ryan speaking on new mungbean varieties available in summer 2025/26.
Registration is free but essential for catering.
