Once again the 2025 Texas Show is upon us, and on behalf of the show committee I would like to welcome everyone from the Texas region, our visitors, competitors, and exhibitors to the 64th Annual Texas Show. This year marks 55 years since the Scottish Australia Company donated the land to create SACO PARK where the Texas Show now sits.

Much of the vibe of our Show can be attributed to selfless work of our dedicated Show committee who has preparations well underway for an exciting action packed and fun filled Saturday and Sunday.

We are thrilled to have our 2025 junior show girls, Georgie Cleversley and Addison Irwin continuing the work of promoting Ag Shows, assisting over the weekend and selling tickets to the pig race cal-cutters and major holiday draw.

We start a little earlier this year on Friday 12:00pm, with the junior judging and leading competition for the stud cattle. Good luck to all the juniors in this new addition to the stud cattle section. Saturday starts with a flurry of events starting with the campdraft, ring events, dressage and yard dog trials. Whilst all of this is going on we will be entertained by the pig races, rockwall, sideshow alley and laser skirmish. At lunch time, visit the Whyalla Beef BBQ, and say Hi to celebrity chef Jason Roberts who is doing cooking demonstration over coals and producing tasting plates. As Whyalla is one of our biggest supporters, make sure you try one of their famous “Big One” burgers, while having a cool drink from the bar next door. Please support the outdoor markets and various displays before heading to the pavilion to enjoy the arts and crafts created by the locals and the fabulous produce, livestock & fibre from this fantastic part of the world.

The rodeo kicks off at 3pm to watch the thrills and spills of the talented bull and bronc riders. Following the rodeo, we bring the fireworks and laser show to life for the kids, big and small. After which we welcome back “Gold Creek” to the stage to take us late into the night where we get to catch up with friends around the bon fire.

Sunday is another fun filled day with the campdraft and yard dog trials continuing, pig races, plus the dog show competition, whip cracking, motorbike challenge and the all-new classic vehicle display (Classics not Plastics) and the ute completion. The Texan challenge is back, followed by the ever-popular wood chop.

We round out this fantastic weekend with the draw of the lucky holiday prize at 3:45pm.

I would like to thank the Texas Show Committee, our fantastic sponsors, supporters, volunteers and hard-working event stewards for bringing this Texas Show together. Your efforts demonstrate that famous Texas community spirit.

I invite you to come down to your local show, to catch up with friends and family and explore what your community has on show. Enjoy.
