Malanda Pastoral, Agricultural and Industrial Society Inc.
With 2026 show festivities due to commence in June, the hype, excitement and planning is well underway! The main event, the three-day show, will this year take place on the 26th, 27th and 28th of June; first weekend of the school holidays – perfect timing for families from afar to plan a trip to the Atherton Tablelands.
It promises to be an event not to be missed, jam packed full of fun and merriment, including the animal competitions and displays (dairy and beef cattle, horses, poultry and gorgeous animal nursery), our show hall of culinary treats and craft and, of course, side show alley.
Kicking off the weekend on the Friday evening will be the ever-popular Street parade. The street procession is always a definite highlight of the Malanda Show. What better way to commence the weekend’s festivities than having a street party, right?!
The theme for the 2026 FAMOUS ROADS. We encourage all sorts of vehicles from vintage to machinery, as well as elaborate costumes, walking processions, marching bands, decorated bikes and, of course, those wonderfully creative floats. Join us at centre ring for the conclusion of the street parade and opening ceremony, kicking off with a stellar performance by the Malanda Gymnastics cheerleading squad. The Eacham Historical Society turns 50 this year and to celebrate, we welcome Petrina Callaghan to the mic to officially open our show! During this event, Elder’s Insurance Tablelands Rural Ambassador winner will be announced.
Saturday promises a full day of competition in the dairy, stud and equestrian events. Family favourite superdog dog obedience display returns from noon Saturday at centre ring, run by Tablelands Dog Obedience Club. Check out the Strategic Builders Farmer’s Challenge at centre ring from 7pm – an entertaining challenge filled with different farming tasks, MC’d by Anthony Ball. Be sure to catch The BIG ‘Spar’tacular firework display in the evening at 8:30pm. Sponsored by SPAR Malanda and The Big Pub.
There is nothing like the unconditional love of a pet. It is time to show off your furry or not so furry friends at our upcoming 2026 Pet Parade to be hosted on Sunday from 9.30am in the Ted Morris Arena. Our famous Celebrity Hand Milking comp is on again after the Grand Parade at 11am in centre ring. $500 proudly sponsored by Dairy Farmers will be donated to a charity of the winner’s choice.
The bar area will be rocking with Matty Hoare music Friday evening and The Sparks Saturday night both until late, both proudly sponsored by Strategic Builders.
Woodchops are back Saturday and Sunday – 9:30am at the newly named ‘Marty & Joan Conole Woodchop Arena’.
If all this isn’t enough, there will be a show hall filled with exhibits, located at the Big Pub, on James St. See impressive quilts, woodwork, horticulture, junior exhibits, and more!
There is something for everyone and ample opportunity for you to get involved in the fun. The show’s ticket pricing is affordable for everyone, at just $85 for a family pass for 2 adults and 2 children for the three-day event.
