On Saturday night The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew airlifted a boy to hospital after he fell into a fire at a Goomburra campground.
The helicopter was tasked at 5.20pm to the Southern Downs region and landed near the campground.
The camp caretaker transported the LifeFlight medical crew to the boy.
He was treated for burns injuries on his hands and legs by the LifeFlight critical care doctor, Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic and local QAS paramedics.
The boy was airlifted to Queensland Children’s Hospital for further treatment.
Fortunately for LifeFlight they were able to land due to an allweather helipad that had been built last year by the Goomburra Valley Campground owners.
The location of their helipad is worth noting for anyone visiting the Goomburra Valley and needs to notify emergency services. Latitude -27.98178 / Longitude 152.29106 / What3words: /// playful.flexibly.shove
