Nhill Boxing Day races

Recent stories

Nhill & District Racing Club President, Bruce Beacom was pleased with the community support of the DMD Nhill Cup. While our preference was to race on Boxing Day, we understood that the extreme weather forecast coupled with the fire rating made it not possible to race on Boxing Day and at the end of the day participant, patron and equine welfare is paramount to the club and racing industry.

The community support of the transferred race day was humbling, and we were pleased that just under 800 people attended the transferred DMD Nhill Cup on Sunday 29th December.

We were fortunate to be able to race on 29th December and the support that we received from our race day service suppliers and entertainment providers was fantastic and meant that we were able to literally transfer everything to the new date.

On behalf of the Nhill & District Racing Club Committee, I’d like to thank our major Nhill Cup sponsor DMD for their support of the club. DMD are a wonderful local sponsor who assist many community groups such as ours and we can’t thank them enough for their sponsorship of the DMD Nhill Cup. I’d also like to acknowledge the following businesses for their support including Nhill IGA, Azza’s Tyres, Leyonhjelm Building Services, Horsham Wool, Western General Insurance Agencies, Luv-A-Duck, Wimmera Bearings, bet365 and the Transport Accident Commission (TAC).
