Join us on Saturday, October 12th for the 85th annual Mil Lel Show—the smallest country show packed with the most family fun! Every year, we strive to offer something bigger and better for everyone, and this year is no exception. The Mil Lel community, with support from the District Council of Grant, has created a day full of activities and entertainment for all ages.

For horse lovers, there’s a huge variety of event rings where riders can showcase their skills in show jumping, hacking, led & ridden breed, and barrel racing. The ever-popular Topsy Ring for young riders offers 32 fun classes, starting with fancy dress—complete with great prizes for everyone. Safety is important, so be sure to wear hard hats and riding boots. After its success last year, Fashions on the Field is back with both Junior (under 18) and Senior classes.

Hunts & Hurdles, with 10 exciting classes, will return on Sunday after its success last year.

The Mil Lel Show is all about family fun, especially for the kids! From the Petstock Pet Parade, foot races, and sandpit, to show bags, Clydesdale cart rides, soft serve ice creams, and pizza, there’s something for everyone. Long-time favourites like the Old McDonald Farm animal nursery, giant games, glitter tattoos, face painting, jumping castle, electric go-karts, and inflatable activity centres are all back to keep the kids entertained.

Inside the show hall, you’ll find impressive displays of arts, crafts, Lego constructions, horticulture, and cooking, all showcasing the incredible talents of our community.

In the Beef Cattle Competition, the Highland breed will be the featured attraction, with breeders competing for the coveted Supreme Highland Exhibit.

Live entertainment will be provided throughout the day by Skyline Haze and Gabriel Strachen, along with a special performance from the Mil Lel & Yahl School Choir and Mil Lel Blue Lake Bouncers skipping team.

For kids eager to explore, the Mil Lel Show Trail is a must! Pick up a show bag with a map, and collect treats and toys from different locations around the showgrounds.

David Miles from South East Snake Awareness is back with his popular snake awareness program.

For something exciting, check out the Mil Lel Ag Bike Challenge, where competitors tackle a challenging low-speed obstacle course. Or head to the Mil Lel CFS fire brigade for a chance to put out a “house fire” like a real firefighter using the CFS truck.

Explore the past with the Vintage Stationary Engines and beautifully restored tractors, or take a ride on a miniature steam engine.

Don’t miss the crowd-favourite Bunnings Billy Cart Competition—a fun test of skill and creativity as competitors race and show off their uniquely decorated billy carts.

Feeling creative? Families can join the fun by making a wind chime, with great prizes on offer from Robinson Super Spreading.

When it comes to food, the Mil Lel School Parent Club will be serving up delicious homemade treats, with bacon and egg sandwiches available from 8am. There will also be a range of food, coffee, and drink stalls throughout the day.

The local Pleasant Park Ladies Group will be running the tea rooms in the hall, offering mouth-watering homemade pasties, buttermilk scones, salads, and sandwiches.

Remember, all proceeds from the show stay in the community, benefiting the Mil Lel School, Hall, Memorial Park, and the show itself.
