When a group of Midwest Traditional Owners visited the Pilbara recently they gained a whole lot more than a training experience. The Yamatji, Jidi Jidi and Nanda groups from the Midwest were hosted by the Yindjibarndi group at Millstream Chichester National Park, south of Karratha.
They shared knowledge on prescribed burning, protection of cultural sites and other landscape management, facilitated by DBCA’s Parks and Wildlife Service. As part of the knowledge exchange, Yindibarndi Rangers welcomed their neighbours and revealed the rich natural and cultural wonders of their ruggedly beautiful country.
