ANZAC Day walk

Recent stories

Interested in Maldon’s history? Friends of Maldon Historic Reserve are hosting a stroll in the Maldon Historic Reserve in the afternoon on ANZAC Day. Learn about the history of ANZAC Hill and discover some of our unique gold-mining landscapes.

The walk is 2.5km and mostly easy-moderate walking, but has a very steep hill climb at the beginning. If you’re up for the steep climb then meet us at the start on the corner of High and Spring Streets at 1.30pm.

To avoid this steep section, you can drive to the top of ANZAC Hill and meet us at the flagpole at about 1.45 pm.

The walk finishes back at the corner of High and Spring Streets and should take a leisurely 1.5 hours.

This walk is free, just bring some water and wear sturdy walking shoes and a rain jacket or umbrella if it looks like raining. You’re also welcome to bring your dog, but it must be kept on a lead.
