Online pool marketplace Poolz is searching for Australia’s best pool as part of the first national Poolz Awards.
Around 140 pools have been nominated across 23 categories for a total of almost 1000 entries including Most ‘Insta’ Worthy Pool, Best Hamptons-Style Pool, Best Pool on a Steep Slope, Best Pool and Slide, and Most Expensive Pool (pool builds over $300,000).
In the inaugural running of the Poolz Awards, the most popular category has been Best Modern Pool with almost all of the nominees entered in this category, followed by Best Family Pool, Best Pool and Entertainment Area, and Best Pool and Landscaping.
Entries have been submitted from right across Australia, with Queensland and New South Wales home to the most nominees.

Among the most jaw-dropping entrants are elevated shipping container pools on the Sunshine Coast and Mornington Peninsula that offer the ultimate above-ground pool experience; a fun family pool in Wollongong that’s like a waterpark complete with slide, spa and spillover; an abstract concrete masterpiece in Brisbane; a resort-style oasis on Sydney’s Northern Beaches; a lap pool designed to offer a splash with unhindered views of Western Australia’s Wheatbelt region; and a multi-level Brisbane pool which is in the running for Australia’s Most Expensive Pool.
A panel of industry experts will judge the 20 main pool categories on form, function and first impressions, while People’s Choice voting is open for Best Fibreglass Pool, Best Concrete Pool and Best Plunge Pool until November 29, 2023, at www.poolz.com.au/awards/swimming-pool-awards. The winners will be announced on the first day of summer.
Founder and CEO of Poolz Tony Loxton said the awards were a chance to showcase and celebrate the nation’s best pools.
“Australians are obsessed with pools – more than three million of us live in a house with a swimming pool and ‘pool’ is the most searched term on real estate sites. For many of us, the Great Australian Dream isn’t complete without a pool, and some homeowners have dreamed big when it comes to their pool. We have been blown away at how cool, stylish and fun the nominees are in the inaugural Poolz Awards. We’re going to have a tough time picking a winner,” Tony said.
