We have just confirmed that acclaimed Sydney-based wildlife photographer Leila Jeffreys will be visiting Ballarat later this month for the launch of her work on the new Art Screen in Alfred Deakin Place. Join her as she discusses her career and experiences working with birds with Gallery Curator Julie McLaren.

Leila Jeffreys is an acclaimed photographic and video artist who is best known for captivating images of birds from Australia and around the world that explore and subvert the traditions of portraiture. Her avian subjects are photographed at human scale with a startling attention to colour, line, form and composition.

Jeffreys’ work Nature is not a place to visit. It is home will be screening on the Art Screen in Alfred Deakin Place from 23 October. It will be accompanied by a series of stills from her work High Society on the lightboxes.
