Suddenly man’s best friend disappears. Down a mine shaft.
25 people-plus jumped into action.

Suddenly a CFA Emergency team member receives an incoming: ‘Dog down a mine shaft’.
25 people-plus jumped into action. Within 25 minutes, a CFA Maldon tanker, a CFA Walmer tanker, Pumper 73, Technical Rescue 73, Oscar One, Oscar One support vehicle, and the Castlemaine SES are either on site or on their way.
The mine was inspected and made safe to attempt a rescue.
Oscar One went into action. A young dog is welcomed back into arms. Safe and sound.
This was a good news story.
And the best Father’s Day. Ever.
According to Maldon Fire Brigade, who have met with Parks Victoria Castlemaine, the mine shaft in question will be fenced.
