Despite the chill in the air the community turned out in force in the Attree Centre on Friday night at the ‘Corryong Spirit’ event to support and connect with local families who have endured hardship on different levels in the past few years, particularly those who have been affected by suicide.

It was unanimous that it was an event to remember.

“We could not have held such a successful event without those in attendance but also those who took part in the event,” a spokesperson for the organisers said.

“A huge shout out to our wonderful keynote speakers, the incredible James Gallacher from Roses in the Ocean and sensational country music artist and mental health advocate, Melinda Schneider, for sharing their experiences.

“Hats off also to the host of people who contributed to the success of the event in so many ways.

“Thanks also go to our committee members who worked tirelessly in order to put together such a meaningful and beautiful event. The care and effort is showcased loud and proud with such a successful event again, in the centre of our town.”

The event received funding from the Towong Shire Council and Border Trust.
